Spiritual Direction

Are you interested in deepening your relationship with God?  Are you at a crossroad in your life?  Spiritual direction may be for you!

Spiritual direction is the contemplative practice in which one person accompanies another person in the process of discovering the presence and action of God in his or her life. Counseling or problem solving is not the focus of spiritual direction.  A "director" does not tell you what to do.  This person is a guide or companion who listens for and with you to become more aware of God's movement in your life.  Everything discussed in a spiritual direction session is held in confidence.

Everything in a person's life can be brought to spiritual direction, but the special focus is on the presence of God and on the person's life of prayer and spiritual practice.  A person meets with a spiritual director typically once a month. On-going spiritual direction is offered by the full-time staff and adjunct spiritual directors.  Our directors may be available to meet in person or virtually.  There is a donation requested for a spiritual direction session, and this may be discussed with the director.  Please do not let your financial situation deter you from reaching out--we have a sliding scale and treat each situation individually.
